Q&A about Eyelash Extensions



So, what are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are, basically, like hair extensions but made specifically for your lashes. Lash Extensions were derived from Asia and use to be a BIG celebrity secret, but has now become popular and more available to the greater public. It is a technique used to add length and volume to your natural lashes. Individual synthetic lashes are applied with a strong-hold adhesive to each individual natural lash. They are practically weightless and way more natural than false lash strips. They come in a variety of colors and lengths so you have the option to keep them fairly natural or go as dramatic as you want!

How long do they last?
They last about 4-6 weeks depending on your lashes and lifestyle. We usually lose about 3-4 lashes per day (probably un-noticed) ...so when our natural lashes fall out, the synthetic ones fall out with it. With regular touchups, you can ensure that you will have beautiful lashes all the time!!! -Get them filled, just like what we do with acrylic nails!

How do Individual Extensions differ from Tabbing?
This is a VERY IMPORTANT question! Tabbing is apllied by using flare eyelashes to the natural lash. The flares (or bulbs) consist of 3-4 lashes per bulb which can ultimately be VERY HEAVY on natural lashes, causing them to fall out. This method lacks the natural look that individual extensions give (very 'fake' looking). You may also have to touch up more often because it becomes really apparent when ever one bulb falls out. It is also important to know that (knot-fee) bulbs can be used with individual extensions to give a fuller look -just not by themselves.

Is it safe to use mascara?
YES, definitely safe....just as long as it isn't waterproof. Also avoid using oil-based makeup removers or any oil-based products around the eye area. This just ensures the longevity of the lashes. You really wont need to wear mascara with the look the eyelash extensions give you.
Recommended mascaras: Lola cake mascara, KISSME mascara or Volume-Up mascara

Should I avoid getting them wet?
Essentially you are not allowed to get them wet within 24 hrs of the initial application. Then after, you can go about your daily routine...shower, jog, swim, sweat -without having to worry about them! Just PLEASE remember to keep them from any kind of moisture (including steam, saunas, etc) for the first 24 hours.

Can I curl my lashes?
You can curl your lashes by using an electric/heated curler NOT your regular pinch curlers

How long does the application take?
Depending on the client, initial application may take anywhere from 1-2hrs. Don't worry, you will be in a lying down position with your eyes closed the whole time. Feel free to doze off for a bit!
